Job Title: Cord Blood Collections Technician (Bilingual English/Spanish)

Summary:

StemCyte, Inc. is a Delaware corporation operating in California which specializes in stem cell technology such as transplantation therapy, diagnostics, research and development and genomics.

Core Responsibilities: (Not all Inclusive)

Under supervision of the Collections Manager and Medical Director, the Collections Technician performs various tasks related to donor education and recruitment; conducts health history/family genetic history and the informed consent process; performs prescreening of donor eligibility and all tasks pertaining to cord blood collection; responsible for accurate and thorough documentation of collection and delivery information. Applicant must have a working knowledge of blood collection practices and procedures including but not limited to: 1) medical terminology, 2) venipuncture using aseptic technique, 3) documentation and labeling practices using current Good Manufacturing/Tissue Practices (cGMT/P), 4) knowledge of blood borne pathogen and exposure control practices, including universal precautions and the use of personal protective equipment.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have the ability to fluently speak, read, write, and understand the English and Spanish languages to provide accurate medical information to prospective donors and answer all donor questions.
  • California Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current valid license required.
  • Must have phlebotomy or venipuncture experience, preferably in blood bank collections.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Must have the ability to competently use a computer including internet based software and email software.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain a courteous and cooperative working relationship with co-workers, customers, and medical staff at hospital collection sites.
  • Must work as part of a team.
  • Must be able and willing to work varied shifts and weekends if necessary or assigned.

Job Title: Laboratory Technician

Location: Covina, CA

Salary: DOE (Depending on Experience)

Summary:

StemCyte, Inc. is a Delaware corporation operating in California which specializes in stem cell technology such as transplantation therapy, diagnostics, research and development, and genomics.

Core Responsibilities: (Not all Inclusive)

Under the direct and general supervision of the Chief Laboratory Technician, assists the Medical Technologist in processing, testing and storage of hematopoietic stem cell and donor blood samples.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:

  • One year experience in hematopoietic stem cell laboratory preferred.
  • Baccalaureate preferred.
  • Three years laboratory experience required.
  • Must have the ability to establish and maintain courteous and cooperative (service-oriented) working relationship with recipients, families, visitors, hospital staff and co-workers.
  • Must have the ability to competently use standard word processing.
  • Must have experience with laboratory information systems.
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand the English language.
